Terrarium

Lichen grows on rock, bark and gravestones. In Cecilie Ore's Terrarium it grows through Oslo Sinfonietta, in twenty-one short movements.

Cecilie Ore's audiovisual work looks at twenty-one of the around two thousand species here in Norway. Like the lichen themselves, the music grows from entanglements between rhythms, surfaces and textures. A shared ecosystem of breath, friction, paper, rattling and small resonances comes into existence.
